Jamie Hamilton was born in Burlington, Ontario, Canada,
before moving to the small town of Campbellville, Ontario where
he was raised. After graduating high school, Jamie's post-secondary
education includes a diploma from Sheridan College in law and security.
Subsequently, Jamie attended both Brock and the Windsor Universities,
studying sociology and communications.
It was in the spring of 1994 when Jamie embarked on his music career,
performing on the country music nightclub circuit, and at fairs
and exhibitions in Ontario, Canada. In 1998, Jamie nationally released
his first recording on the Ocean Label. The single "It's
Our Time", established a presence for this artist in Canada.
The follow-up single and video "Workin' Man", were
released. The video went into regular rotation on CMT in Canada,
and it achieved the status of the highest-rated independent video
in rotation on CMT at the time.
In the fall of 1999, plans for a second recording, "Just You
and Me", were put in place, including the writing collaboration
with Jamie and Canadian Awards Winner, Thomas Wade. Thomas also
produced the recording, and Benny Quinn mastered the recording in
Nashville, at Masterphonics.
"She's Everything", the first single, was released
in the spring of 2001, with the accolades of the industry in Canada,
including the quote of Larry Delaney of the publication, Country
Music News, that this recording is "loaded with radio
friendly tunes" and that Jamie writes music that "hits
are made of". Jamie and the band recently performed in Calgary
at the CCMA awards and at Ranchmans, a large country nightclub.
Both performances met with great response by the public, the industry
and artists in attendance.
The plan is now to introduce Jamie to the Nashville music industry
and to promote and further his career in North America, and the
rest of the world. Jamie is managed by Allen & Moir Management
in Canada.
In February, 2002, "Can-Am Border", the new single
will be released. The new version of this song was re-cut and mixed
at Metalworks Studios in Toronto. L. Stu Young engineered, and Kenny
Greer produced and played the guitars on the recording. Nick Blagona
mastered the recording.
